Veldt is a feature documentary about the people who still cross the desert on foot. The director wanted a site that felt like the film rather than a poster for it.
The idea
One long scroll, paced by the film's own stills, with the interface disappearing whenever a frame is on screen. Screening dates, press and the trailer are there, but they wait their turn.
What we did
Narrative and content design, interface design, a custom image pipeline for 8K stills, front-end build and a press kit system that the distributor could update without us.
Outcome
The site was selected for two web design annuals and became the template for the distributor's subsequent releases.
